Chris Hemsworth to Star in Hulk Hogan Biopic for ‘Joker’ Director Todd Phillips, Brother

I had to re-read this article a handful of times to make sure this wasn’t an early April Fool’s Joke. Heat Vision reports that Chris Hemsworth, better known to movie audiences as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or as Kirk’s Dad in 2009’s Star Trek), will be starring in a Hulk Hogan biopic to be co-written and directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy, the upcoming Joker flick starring Jaoquin Pheonix). The film, which looks to be heading to Netflix, will not tell ALL of Hogan’s story unfortunately; instead it’ll act as an “origin story” of Hulkamania, whatever that means. Given that Hogan is one of the producers (as well as Hemsworth and Eric Bischoff) that’s altogether not surprising, but a little disappointing. I hope they at least make it to the late-80s or something so Dan Soder can do his uncanny ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage impersonation for the masses. No timetable or anything related to release date, or production, or nothing.

Given all the (justifiably) negative press surrounding Hogan in his later years, I’m surprised things have cooled off enough for any biopic to be made of him. That being said I cannot WAIT to see this for myself, and to see Hemsworth do a Hulk Hogan impression. That’s gonna be WILD, brother jack dude.
